As we all know, the term Eco-Development is often misused. NOT HERE !
35 years ago, this property was a cut-down, burned-out, cattle farm with some ocean views. Ray Biese (“The Developer”) purchased the land and planted thousands and thousands of indigenous tree species, nurturing them over the following years. Nature did the rest. Ray created a seasonal lake and water-traps allowing rainwater to sink into the land, instead of escaping to the nearby ocean.
The dry, tropical forest is alive with botanical, animal, bird and insect wildlife.
Pura Jungla’s 100-hectare development is the real deal with 50 hectares of bio-reserve. Much of the 50 hectares residential lots is forest abutting the reserve.
There is a solid Pura Jungla community of like-minded owners, ages ranging from the 30’s to the 70’s … singles, couples and families with children.
The community is ready to welcome like-minded arrivals. The number one desire of the community is peace-of-mind.

Important Caveats
All driving times stated are an approximate average.
Rio Seguito, between the main coast road and Pura Jungla, is a seasonal river as are most rivers on the Nicoya Peninula. It is dry 5 months of the year and easily passable during most of the remaining 7 rainy season months from May to November. But during some localized cloud bursts this river can become too deep for normal vehicles to pass. This can last for a couple of hours up to (during long rainy periods in the hard-rain months of October to early November) 24 to 36 hours.
